Meta is releasing six updates to Facebook Groups, including Reels and fresh tools for admins to manage Groups. From now on, users will be able to share additional content types while admins get the opportunity to manage their respective communities more efficiently.
The following six new tools and options are available in Facebook Groups:
- Reels
- Facebook Group events shareable to Instagram stories
- Customizable Facebook Group profiles
- Feature to recognize members of the Facebook Group community
- Refresh the Admin Assist tool
- Option to post flagged content in the Groups
1.Reels
This feature allows Facebook users to create and share Reels in groups. Earlier, doing such a thing, you would have to reshare a Facebook post in the group. The new update allows you to upload a Reel straight to the group, making it an ideal choice for communities.
2. Facebook Group events shareable to Instagram stories
The update allows users to share links to Facebook events in their Instagram Stories. The option is available to everyone in the group and helps communities grow more effectively.
3.Customizable Facebook Group profiles
Now it is possible to customize your Facebook Groups’ About Me section to showcase any vital information with the community members. There is a feature for members and admins to incorporate an indicator to their profiles that they are available for messaging. This signal helps other members interested in having a one-on-one conversation with you.
4.Feature to recognize members of the Facebook Group community
Facebook is also testing novel ways for admins to highlight top-performing group members. Contributions come by partaking in active roles with responsibilities or garnering comments and reactions on posts.
5.Refresh the Admin Assist tool
Facebook has upgraded its existing Admin Assist tool by including additional ways to moderate and dictate the fate of each content. Group admins can use the tool to relocate misleading or false information to pending posts, after which they can review the post before removing them. Facebook will let group admins know how Admin Assist facilitates them to manage their group using daily digest. Daily digest is a new feature containing a synopsis of steps Admin Assist has taken in the past as per criteria set by the admins.
6. Option to post flagged content in the Groups
Facebook is also testing a feature that lets admins of select groups decide on the future of flagged content that appears in the groups. This applies to even content flagged by the platform’s auto-moderation system.
The Group-oriented enhancements are part of Meta’s move to increase competitiveness and active participation of groups and engagement on the platform as it gears up towards embracing the metaverse.
